Our biggest kiddo was selected to join the National Honor Society... *burst*
The school's efforts in making the induction ceremony special were excellent...there were robes, candles, flowers, speeches, photos, awards of certificates and pins, and a reception. The organizers even went to the great lengths of having flowers for each mother...They played pomp and circumstance...which flashed me unexpectedly forward to graduation and lump in my throat... I stayed in one piece!
The idea is that the students selected are exemplary in their grades, consistently demonstrating "Scholarship, Service, Leadership, and Character"...and we're in agreement that those are important in student life, and growing up. He's a hard working kiddo and we're so happy for him that his efforts and results are recognized in such an official way--
