So this will be a short, but joyful post.
There is a lot of gluten-free goodness happening in Las Vegas. I think it's a phenomenon that's catching on.
Asian place- they had asterisks beside everything that was gluten free, and they were willing to make anything gluten free if possible... Tao, in the Venetian/Palazzo, if anyone wants the specifics.
Carnevino, it was another Mario Batali installation in the Venetian (guess where we stayed?!) Possibly the most exquisite dinner and service that ever I have enjoyed! There are not enough exclamation marks in the world... Filet, cumin yogurt sauce, beets with gorgonzola cheese and little vinagrette to enhance the roasted pistachios, wild mushroom and onion saute...perfect halibut, a one-handed carving display for a bone-in filet...crazy-CRAZY good desserts. Carrot cake and marscapone cream (not gluten free) but my flourless chocolate cake was fit for any foodie, wheatie or not! It was served with a little spoon rolled, tidied up mint ice cream or sorbet...not sure, but it was wickedly good, and there was some kind of herb incorporated into it that gave it a really intense and interesting flavour...can't say which, just know it was there.
So that was that. Now, we're in the airport, at a chophouse, and I've just enjoyed a nice big salad, with chicken and corn, and a citrus dressing. Yum. Off we go now!
Cheers and chao.
